    CAN-ACT

CAN-ACT, Caldwell and Nampa Alliance of Community Theatre, was started in 1991, when three actors, Toni Mendoza, Nancy Richards, and Marilyn Gunderson, decided to put the group together to provide an outlet for talented people in the area that didn't involve a drive to Boise.

    Company of Fools

    MISSION STATEMENT
Company of Fools is a theatre company driven by the power of the theatrical experience to connect artist and audience. Whether through performing or teaching, we seek to engage, inspire, entertain and transform. We listen deeply - to our community and to ourselves as artists - and respond through a creative process that resonates with and contributes to the world in which we live.

    OBJECTIVIES
Consistent with its mission statement, Company of Fools is committed to the following objectives:
    • To connect a disconnected world – one play, one class, one conversation at a time.
    • To explore and illuminate stories of the human heart connecting them to today’s audience.
    • To cultivate and nurture its artists, including directors and designers, who are uniquely and specifically trained in the fools’ creative process, thereby creating a truly distinct voice in the American theatre.
    • To advance theatre as a vital art form.
    • To deepen and expand the artist/ audience connection.
    • To build for the future by training potential young artists and celebrating the child’s creative voice through arts-in-education programming.

    NexStage Theatre

The NexStage Theatre, Sun Valley and Ketchum’s non-profit community theater, situated at 120 South Main Street in downtown Ketchum, is lit up with education programs, cabaret, cutting-edge theater, films and community events all year long. Well over 25,000 people attended functions at the nexStage in this past year. Since its beginnings in 1992, the nexStage Theatre has grown by offering diverse programs that reach a large cross-section of the residents of Blaine County: dramatic arts classes, the Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival, a Producing Partners program providing financial aid for local theater companies and underwriting community non-profit events and presentations. These programs, in addition to the regular schedule of plays and readings at the nexStage, all address the organization’s overarching mission to provide a flexible venue for hosting, supporting and producing the performing arts in addition to educational, multicultural, philanthropic and community events.

    Knock 'Em Dead Productions

Post  Brian on Sat Oct 24 2009, 21:08

    Knock 'Em Dead Productions

Knock 'em Dead (KED) began producing shows in 1984. At that time, the "season" was one to two shows a year in facilities rented by the partnership organization. This was truly a grass roots operation at inception. The sets were constructed in a neighborhood garage, and painted in the front yard; when completed, the set pieces were stored in another garage. A few days before the production was to begin, the cast and crew would gather for a car parade of set pieces to the rented facility. Then magically within the day, the set puzzle pieces were assembled in their rightful places on stage.

    Stage Coach Theatre

Post  Brian on Sat Oct 24 2009, 21:21

    Stage Coach Theatre

Stage Coach Theatre was established as a non-profit 501(C)3 corporation in 1981. The original Board of Directors consisted of five founding members. The main objectives of the theatre at that time were

    1) to provide quality theatre to the community at a low cost,

    2) to bring live theatre to communities that would otherwise not be exposed to live theatre, and

    3) to use local actors and writers whenever possible and eventually to pay them.

    Starlight Mountain Theatre

Post  Brian on Sat Oct 24 2009, 21:24

    Starlight Mountain Theatre

Starlight Mountain Theatre is the culmination of a life-long dream of R. Ed Davis. I (Ed) spent seven years pursuing an M.F.A. Degree in Theatre and Directing, and dreamed of returning to Idaho , the home of my youth, to design and open a professional outdoor theatre. Everyone in life has a dream. “Opening a summer-stock theatre had always been mine.”
