    Akira Kurosawa Empty Akira Kurosawa

Akira is one of the best Directors to ever live. He is credited with the best overall film of all time. "The Seven Samurai."

Kurosawa trailblazed the industry with style and content. He inspired many filmmakers and some even stole his work word for word.

    Akira Kurosawa Empty Yojimbo

    Post  Brian Wed Oct 21 2009, 23:44

Toshiro Mifuno easily the best actor ever to appear on film played Kurosawa's most memorable character Yojimbo. Yojimbo was a bodyguard of the Shogun before being forced to be a Ronin (masterless) wanderer. He then "helps" villages and people for a price.

A sequel to Yojimbo, this time Yojimbo helps conspirators escape capture. One of my fav scenes in any film.

    Akira Kurosawa Empty Rashoman

    Post  Brian Wed Oct 21 2009, 23:51

A staple for all film schools, watching Rashoman would be your homework due to the influence it had on cinema. Evertime you see any production re-tell a scene several different ways they are borrowing from Roshoman.

Toshiro Mifune plays a doctor of high moral standing and also kicks some mighty ass! I love this flick. Very beautiful from front to back.

An Epic from the Eastern Cinema. Ran is a great Film and adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear.

A re-creation of Macbeth. Toshiro puts on an unforgetable performance. Again.
