The Next Greatest Thing - Blueprint

Post  Brian on Fri Nov 13 2009, 01:12

    Okay,

So D-Lime is beginning the process of creating a community home where it houses only D-Lime Artists. So D-Limers can get a great apartment for cheap money. This of course is going to start small. And can and most likely will, as D-Lime grows, get bigger and bigger. A D-Lime HQ if you will.

When one D-Limer moves out. Another one moves in. As well trim our bills and costs, we have more money and henceforth more time to do what we love. Which is not work for anyone but ourselves.

So I am beginning the process of generating interest. Personally, I think living with fellow minded artists could be a great experience but also realize that there needs to be rules and regulations so this works out fairly and makes it worth while.

Think of a frat house, and your getting close. Except much better. Anyway I know many of you would not be interested having leases and home ownership, yet for people like me who just want a cheap awesome place to live. And live with people who are smart and inspire me to better the art and work I do.

    Post if your intersted.

Ideas for locations are in house studio, edit suite, work shop. locations will be chosen for having such potential and having a landlord open-minded to such facilities being built if they do not pre-exist.

That would be tight! I'd move in if I could find a decent job in Boise...

The idea is that you wouldn't need a decent job. Just a couple of days doin anything. And if we get you moving and booked in shows you'd have that.

I think you're onto something with this housing collective. Are there any "best-practices" out there to look at?

    Concept Part One

House would double as venue. Every first Saturday would be the "House Party."

This would include D-Lime artist's works. A local independant Film would be looped, A band/musician/dj would play music, An Artist would hang art, etc.

Cover charge would be for under 21 = $5
    over 21 = $10

For Over 21 - All the D-Lime you could drink
For Under 21 - All the Non-Alc D-Lime you could drink

    Tall Rocks Glass over ice

    Vodka 1oz
    Splash of Gin
    Splash of Triple Sec
    Splash of Rose's Lime
    Top with Sprite

    Garnish with Lime

GOAL = Pay the rent and utilitites of the House.
